ReTweed shortlisted in two categories for Herald Society Awards 2017
We were truly delighted to find out that ReTweed were short-listed in two categories, the Social Start-Up and the Environmental Initiative, at the Herald Society Awards 2017. Contenders for the Herald’s annual Society Awards this year were as varied as ever – from schemes offering support for the elderly to mental health help for young care leavers, from recycling campaigns to digital inclusion schemes. ReTweed’s Founder, Hazel Smith has spent a year as a student at the Scottish School for Social Entrepreneurs and graduated this week at the Bank of Scotland’s Headquarters in Edinburgh along with the 14 other Social Entrepreneurs from across Scotland. Scottish Borders is quite a landmass – It’s a real hack across country from Eyemouth to Hawick but on a sunny day what a gloriously scenic journey. The contrasts en route are just wonderful; starting out with the coastal panorama of East Berwickshire then next, running alongside patchwork of meadows then opening up into valleys alongside them there rolling hills and finally winding along the Tweed.
